Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

To celebrate Dr. Seuss's Birthday, I invited special guests to read Dr. Seuss stories to Greater Plains Elementary students all day in the library. In addition to listening to Dr. Seuss stories, each student was given a 'happy birthday' cupcake, baked by Greater Plains faculty & staff. Guest readers included  participators from Hartwick College and SUNY Oneonta. One of our favorite guest readers was Mrs. Celeste Strenn who loves to read Dr. Seuss stories. It was a great day!

iPads and Pre-K?

Yes! The Pre-K class has been learning how to use the ipads at a station in their classroom. The students are excited to work on their letters and numbers using this technology. The students were first introduced to the ipads in library and taught how to properly use them. The Pre-K teacher, Mrs. Broe, started using them the next day with great success.

The Greater Plains Libary has taken on a new look! Two huge bean bag chairs have been added so the students can enjoy reading a great book in a relaxing space. There is also an area for students to work on a 1000 piece puzzle and play various word games such as Banana Grams.

Once you've entered your search term and gotten a list of hits, click "Show Options" at the top of your hit list. Click Wonder Wheel in the left column to help you narrow down your search and organize your search in an easy to navigate path.
Click Timeline in the left column to organize your hits by date (can you say "primary sources"?!).
